Client Profile:
Cheyenne Mountain Ace Hardware (www.cheyennemtnace.com) is a 22,000 square foot retail hardware, paint, lawn and garden, power equipment, and barbecue destination located at 1785 South 8th Street in Colorado Springs, CO. The store opened in June 2023 under the leadership of Ace new investor owner, Rob Quarles.
Rob chose DilSe.IT to install the technology infrastructure in his new store starting with an initial site visit in December of 2022. The site previously housed a gym facility and none of the old CAT5 low voltage cabling or technology was up to today’s standards or located for the new proposed use of the space. The general contractor and DilSe.IT removed all of the old cabling and started fresh.
DilSe.IT installed a complete new technology infrastructure consisting of: A robust, remotely manageable network including new CAT6 low voltage cabling, segmented wi-fi throughout the building and outside selling areas, and two network racks for efficient front-of-house and back-of-house operations in this relatively large space. A state-of-the-art surveillance system with more than 50 IP cameras covering both inside and outside the store. All cameras are remotely viewable via a smartphone app. A cost-effective voice-over-internet-protocol (VoIP) phone system with specific features for the Ace retail environment. And, an overhead music and public address system which re-used the existing speakers from the gym. In addition, DilSe.IT sourced and coordinated the installation of the store’s broadband internet connection from Comcast. The technology infrastructure project was completed in three phases over several months with the final phase coinciding with the merchandising of the new store.
DilSe.IT sourced and installed all of the Windows computers for the new store standardizing on Dell Optiplex micro form factor machines cleanly mounted at point-of-sale, paint, service, and other important locations throughout the store. Coordinating closely with the store’s software vendor Epicor, DilSe.IT brought all computers and mobile devices on-line to support the store’s opening date.
Rob and his Ace team use DilSe.IT’s Hosted Business Services for email, calendar, and cloud-based file storage and sharing. DilSe.IT recommended and sourced an email domain and brought Rob’s services live even before the store was open to support his start-up operations and his hiring of management and staff.
Through a Managed Services Plan, DilSe.IT continues to support all of the technology at Cheyenne Mountain Ace as Rob’s outsourced IT Department. The DilSe.IT Support Desk is available from 7am until 11pm seven days per week. Remote monitoring and management software allows most issues to be resolved without a site visit. The store’s operations from receiving inventory, to mixing paint, to checking-out function smoothly with the technology disappearing into the background. DilSe.IT guarantees Cheyenne Mountain Ace’s technology infrastructure for 10+ years of reliable service so Rob and his team can focus on providing Ace Helpful Service to his surrounding neighbors and businesses!
