Justin Campo: VP of Sales at DilSe.IT? Intern at Ace Hardware? Both?

What makes a good leader? Experience, education, people skills? To be sure, these are all crucial factors, but many leaders lack one additional, equally critical skill: the willingness to roll up their sleeves and get their hands dirty alongside their customers and employees when necessary.

To gain a firsthand understanding of our clients’ operations, Justin Campo, DilSe.IT’s Vice President of Sales, embarked on a 5-week internship with Ace Hardware. Justin spent every Friday afternoon during that period working the sales floor at Green Mountain Ace Hardware. His responsibilities included everything from counting and stocking inventory to ringing up customers, and, of course, keeping track of the store’s technology. By immersing himself in the day-to-day operations of our customers, Justin gained valuable insight into how they do business and shared it with our team as we implement new technologies and processes to serve our Ace Hardware family of clients more effectively.

Dil Se is Hindi for “with love,” and is the foundation on which we’ve built our approach to client relations. To truly live up to our values and “walk the walk,” it’s vital that we remain closely engaged with our clientele and have a realistic understanding of what a day-in-the-life looks like for them. Luckily, our leadership team comes prepared with years, and in some instances decades, of experience working at, managing, and leading Ace Hardware stores, which is important since we serve more than 40 Aces as clients. Andy and Claudette Carlson, our CEO and Director of Operations, spent 17 years as owner-operators of Ace Hardware Alameda Station and Ace Hardware Cherry Creek.  Joseph Zuniga, our Sales Engineer, spent several years managing that same location, and Jakob Todd, one of our IT Support Specialists, was also an Ace employee prior to finishing his IT certification and starting with DilSe.

While many IT companies’ leaders are detached from daily operations and focus exclusively on high-level executive matters, Dil Se’s leadership makes a point of staying in touch with our clients’ needs, which allows them to train our techs to handle the tasks they’re most likely to encounter effectively and efficiently.

All part of our commitment to provide our clients not just with exemplary service, but with love and care. Why? Because at DilSe, we believe business is personal.
